Mendel van der Ploeg

Mendel van der Ploeg is a Dutch actor, theater maker, and voice artist based in Amsterdam. He graduated from the Amsterdamse Toneelschool & Kleinkunstacademie in 2022 and also completed Method Acting training at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York City.

Since graduating, Mendel has been active in both theater and film. His stage credits include productions such as Disco Pigs, Three Sisters, The Misanthrope, Dangerous Liaisons, Carnage, Scenes from a Marriage, De Drang, Macbeth, Frozen (Onder het IJs), and Leonce and Lena. He has worked with directors including Eva Lemaire, Lynn Schutter, and Elsie de Brauw.

Mendel has also performed internationally, appearing in Drei Schwestern by Anton Chekhov at the Pfalztheater in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

On screen, his work includes roles in series such as Flikken Maastricht, Mocro Maffia, De Droom van de Jeugd, Het Gouden Uur, NOOD, and several episodes of Het Klokhuis. In 2024, he joined the cast of the long-running Dutch drama Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden.

In addition to his work on stage and screen, Mendel has lent his voice to various projects for clients such as Amsterdam UMC, Studio Wild, and REC Sound.

He continues to develop his craft with curiosity and dedication, always looking for meaningful stories to help bring to life.
